When a young writer named Chris Claremont took over X-Men in 1976, few fans could predict the incredible impact he would have on the series. With a flair for realistic dialogue, heartfelt storylines and hard-hitting action, Claremont's writing breathed life into the characters. In collaboration with artists Dave Cockrum and John Byrne, Claremont crafted a run still heralded as a definitive era on the book. X-Men became more than just another super-hero title: this diverse cast of mutants fighting against prejudice and intolerance has resonated in the hearts of millions of devoted readers.

COLLECTING: GIANT-SIZE X-MEN 1, X-MEN (1963) 94-131, ANNUAL (1970) 3

The best there is ... Bub!! I passed this up the first time it was released, but luckily got this second printing! I've really grown to love the Marvel Omnibus format. Especially the Uncanny X-Men series, that features several issues from the Uncanny X-Men, plus several extras originally found in other comic titles. The big draw for this tome is the classic "Dark Phoenix" & it's aftermath. It also includes the epic "Days of Future Past". Chris Claremont & John Bryne were truly in their prime here & nothing has really compared to it since.Cannot go wrong As one who collected the set back in the day, few things incapsulated the changes in our society and exposed the world to a discriminated lot more than the X-Men. Bottom line, you cannot go wrong with seeing the world through the eyes of these artists and writers.Good, classic X-Men issues Good, classic X-Men issues. But the first Omnibus collection is really the meat of what made this run great. After the conclusion of the Hellfire club storyline at the beginning of this collection the rest of the stories seem to get more and more "meh" until I finally just stopped reading. Go with Omnibus collection #1 and then just get a trade paperback of the Hellfire Club storyline. You'll save a bunch of money and a bunch of time.

National Geographic Little Kids First Big Book of Dinosaurs (National Geographic Little Kids First Big Books) Pdf

ISBN: 1426308469
Title: National Geographic Little Kids First Big Book of Dinosaurs (National Geographic Little Kids First Big Books) Pdf
Author: Catherine D. Hughes
Published Date: 2011
Page: 127

Catherine D. Hughes is the author of several books in the National Geographic Little Kids First Big Book series, including Little Kids First Big Book of Dinosaurs, Little Kids First Big Book of Space, and Little Kids First Big Book of the Ocean. She also has a degree in early childhood development.Franco Tempesta is an illustrator who specializes in the depiction of dinosaurs and other primitive mammals. A member of the Italian Illustrators Association, he has worked with National Geographic Children’s Books, Random House, and the Smithsonian Institution. His work can be seen in titles such as Little Kids First Big Book of Dinosaurs. Tempesta lives in Verona, Italy. To learn more, visit francotempesta.eu.

The third title in National Geographic Little Kids First Big Book series, this book is for kids 4- to 8-years-old who LOVE dinos! The prehistoric world comes alive with dinosaurs small, big, giant, and gigantic, with stunning illustrations by Franco Tempesta—who illustrated National Geographic Kids The Ultimate Dinopedia. Bursting with fun facts and age appropriate information, each spread features a different dinosaur, along with simple text in big type that is perfect for little kids. Young dino fans will love the interactivity included in every chapter, and parents will appreciate tips to help carry readers’ experience beyond the page.

Get Ready To Learn Alot of Dinosaurs! This is my 3 yr old sons FAVORITE book. He wants to read it all the time. Only issue with that is its a long book (over 100 pages) and its pretty factual. Perfect for a budding little 3yr old want to be paleontologist! I know so much about dinosaurs now and so does he! This is not a book with dinosaur stories, this pictures of dinosaurs and several facts about them. Its broken down by size, with chapters for small, big, giant and gigantic dinosaurs. As a parent reading the book, I also love how they put the phonetic translation of the names. It only takes a few times sounding it out to learn how to say some of the names.Ive honestly hidden the book for a few weeks because I was tired of reading him 100 dinosaurs out loud, but thats a testament to how nice this book is for a kid who is really interested in learning lots about dinosaurs.Only suggestion should they ever do another addition is to add Velociraptor in as lots of kids love the standard Velocirapotor or even Utahraptor.Great dino book but has quality issues It's a hit with my 5 1/2 year old who loves dinosaurs. Big pictures and large print wording make it great for preschool to the younger school ages like 3-7. It has different sections for the small, big, giant, and gigantic dinosaurs with an appropriate amount of reading for this age group. If you are looking for a detailed book with lots of info and details then a different book would be better. Highly recommend for the young dinosaur fans!Update: the day after receiving we took it to preschool for reading time with little kids that this book is supposed to be made for. Now several of the pages have came out of the binding and I've had to glue and tape them back in. I would think it would be better made for this age group. Just be forewarned. I did take off a star because of this.Update: a few months later the pages had to be glued back on other occasions with normal use. It is a good book and maybe it's just a problem with our book but it is not holding up well. We've never had any other books, especially new ones, start coming apart like this.Perfect for the curious toddler, and great book to grow on! This was the highlight of Christmas for my 2.5 year old. He loves learning about the different dinosaurs. Thank goodness there's a pronunciation guide for parents, because yikes. This book is not for the faint parent's heart - SO many different dinosaurs, my kid can make bedtime go on endlessly with this one! :)This book has a lot of room to help grow with my child. Right now he loves the pictures and the names, and especially learning what each dinosaur eats. I expect that soon he'll be into the unique attributes of each different dinosaur. Great gift!

Talk to Me Free Pdf

ISBN: 0062825208
Title: Talk to Me Pdf How to Ask Better Questions, Get Better Answers, and Interview Anyone Like a Pro

“Talk to Me is the perfect guide to interviewing. I can think of many reporters, anchors, and late-night personalities who could benefit from this book, but anyone who speaks with fellow humans will find Nelson’s guidance priceless.” (Tom Foster, author of How to Read Literature Like a Professor)“Dean Nelson is a fabulous interviewer because he has the most important qualification—genuine curiosity. Add to that his deep compassion his searing intellect, and his love of a good story, and Dean gets you to say things about yourself that even you didn’t realize. And you’re the better for it.” (Jeannette Walls)“Dean Nelson is a remarkable interviewer: wonderfully informed, perceptive, smart, funny, and—not least—uplifting.” (Joyce Carol Oates)“Dean Nelson is one of the best interviewers around.” (Anne Lamott) Interviewing is the single most important way journalists (and doctors, lawyers, social workers, teachers, human resources staff, and, really, all of us) get information. Yet to many, the perfect interview feels more like luck than skill—a rare confluence of rapport, topic, and timing. But the thing is, great interviews aren’t the result of serendipity and intuition, but rather the result of careful planning and good journalistic habits. Dean Nelson, director of the journalism program at Point Loma Nazarene University and founder of the Writer’s Symposium by the Sea, is here to show you how to nail the perfect interview every time.Drawing on forty years of award-winning journalism, Nelson walks readers through each step of the journey, from deciding whom to interview and structuring questions to the nitty gritty of using a recording device and effective note-taking strategies, to the ethical dilemmas of interviewing people you love (and loathe). He also includes case studies of famous interviews to show readers how these principles play out in real time.Chock-full of comprehensive, time-tested, gold-standard advice, Talk to Me is an indispensable guide to the subtle art of the interview guaranteed to provide readers with the skills and confidence they need the next time they say, “talk to me.”

From respected journalist, professor, and founder of the Writer's Symposium by the Sea, a book that demystifies the art and science of interviewing, in the vein of On Writing Well or How to Read Literature Like a Professor.

“Dean Nelson is one of the best interviewers around.”—Anne Lamott

Do NOT let a child read this. This is a horror book filled with nastiness, lack of empathy, and most revoltingly, the idea that it's reasonable and morally correct to torture and kill children in the name of possibly saving the human race. I forced myself to finish it to see if the ending had any redeeming qualities---it does not. A "teaser" for the second book begins with a brother and sister kidnapped after watching the murder of their parents. Apparently many adults, including respected reviewers, can maintain enough emotional distance to enjoy this sort of thing, but I am not one of them. And I certainly do not regard this as appropriate for children, or even teenagers.NOT a boxed set! Most sets only have the 1st 3 books, it's nice this set has all 4 books. However this is NOT a Boxed set . This is a set of 4 books that are shrink wrapped together with a paper wrapper around the ends & back. It is not in a box, so the books are loose when the wrap is removed.
