The best there is ... Bub!! I passed this up the first time it was released, but luckily got this second printing! I've really grown to love the Marvel Omnibus format. Especially the Uncanny X-Men series, that features several issues from the Uncanny X-Men, plus several extras originally found in other comic titles. The big draw for this tome is the classic "Dark Phoenix" & it's aftermath. It also includes the epic "Days of Future Past". Chris Claremont & John Bryne were truly in their prime here & nothing has really compared to it since.Cannot go wrong As one who collected the set back in the day, few things incapsulated the changes in our society and exposed the world to a discriminated lot more than the X-Men. Bottom line, you cannot go wrong with seeing the world through the eyes of these artists and writers.Good, classic X-Men issues Good, classic X-Men issues. But the first Omnibus collection is really the meat of what made this run great. After the conclusion of the Hellfire club storyline at the beginning of this collection the rest of the stories seem to get more and more "meh" until I finally just stopped reading. Go with Omnibus collection #1 and then just get a trade paperback of the Hellfire Club storyline. You'll save a bunch of money and a bunch of time.
