But what a story it is getting to this place where Will tells Emma that they must end their relationship that was so right for the two of them.Will thinks in order to save his job at the company that he helped build he must sacrifice his love of Emma. He thinks he can not be involved with a subordinate. It would cause a scandal. The board of directors which includes his ex-wife (the witch), would never allow him to stay at the helm of the company.Think he’s wrong? What about if the scandal deepens? The board of directors could not handle his affair after his divorce how would they handle a deeper scandal?Or does his love for Emma override his fear of losing the company? No spoilers from me. The book is worth reading to find out not only the answers to the question of Will's business but to what happens to the relationship. And just maybe other interesting turns of events. No spoilers from me.Aubrey Wright always has been a great storyteller. This book is no exception. The story line is more than engaging. The characters are very well written and well thought out. The book has everything a reader could ask for in a smash hit of a book; laughter, angst, suspense, an emotional ride and of course, HEA. I would easily give BOSS WITH BENEFITS a 7-star rating if I could.Another winner for Aubrey Wright Emma and Will had a meet cute. Will is the CEO of an investment firm in New York called Paradigm. He meets Emma when they crash into one another in the lobby of their apartment building. Emma has moved to New York from Chicago and is there to start a new job on Monday. Will invites her out for drinks to as sort of a welcome to the city. They're attracted to one another and after hopping from one bar to another, they end up spending the night together at Will's penthouse. Emma slips out of the apartment early in the morning to get ready for her first day of work. She runs into Will after she gets off of the elevator in her work place not realizing that Will is the CEO of the company. Will is a bit of a workaholic who sometimes forgets to deal with the smaller details and he has to deal with an ex-wife who has a different vision of how to run the company than his. His ex is the daughter of his late business partner and she wants to merge the company with another and cut the workforce by almost 50% whereas Will wants to go international and try to expand the company globally. Will's ex-wife wants Will to hire an assistant and he ends up promoting Emma to be his assistant. He's a bit of a demanding boss and due to his bad experience with his ex, he tries to keep a professional relationship with Emma even though he is drawn to her. They travel to Paris to try and have a business meeting with a potential partner and they can't stay apart. Emma is the total opposite from his ex-wife and Will finds that he can't stay away from her. She charms him with her freshness and her hard working ambitious attitude. There is a lot of heat between them and their love scenes were pretty spicy. As with all of Aubrey Wright's books, there is an element of suspense and a roller coaster of emotions. You smile and you feel a bit of angst while you root for Will and Emma. Their relationship is not perfect but they're cute together.
